Spray Tanning

Spray tanning is the new rave. It's a very simple process and best of it is FDA approved. The active ingredient dihydroxyacetone is not only safe but is preferred over direct sunlight that have harmful ultraviolet rays. You're thinking is this actually true? Am I missing something here? Does this mean mean no wrinkles and no skin cancer. If you listen to folks over at the Food & Drug Administration and even the staff at the prestigious MayoClinic then the answer is yes. Or in their own words “sunless bathing is a safe alternative to sunbathing.” This is very interesting and I can't remember the last time we caught a break of this magnitude. Usually when we opt for alternatives and artificial products the consequences are either unknown or detrimental to our health.
There must be a catch though, right. There must be some kind of mistake or confusion because if not then every pale person should be on his or her way to a spray tanning session at tanning salon right this very minute. While there isn't a catch, there is a price to be paid. And that means if you're stepping inside a spray tanning booth you're paying a price. And if you're getting the spray on tan via a professional tanning therapist then it will cost you some more. That's how life goes and whatever is exceptionally good usually caters to the rich and the famous. Spray tanning doesn't last too long on the skin either, that's another negative. The maximum is usually 1 week and could even fade as early as 4 or 5 days after getting one. This again reflects the type of spray tanning solution they use on the skin. The results of cheap product will pale in comparison to the results of highly quality brands. There's also preparation and some people simply don't have any.

You see spray tanning is applied directly on the skin. The solution is a mist and anything that comes between the skin and the mist will undermine the tan. You may wonder, well what could undermine the results of skin's bronze color longevity. The answer is simple, it could be dirt, grease, blocked pores, makeup, and so on and so on. Just about anything could be a barrier between your skin and the mist used to colorize the skin. So obviously you have to take note of those issues and get them out the way. Shower and scrub you body real good, also exfoliate and moisture your skin hours before you enter a spray tanning booth.
And that's something that I wanted to discuss here – spray tanning booths. If you don't want to spend too much then get your tan that way. But if it's a real special occasion where your body will be looked at closely then maybe having an actual human spray the tanning mist on you would be the way go about it. The spraying tanning equipment inside the booths are robotic or mechanical spray tanning systems and they will miss spots. Use your imagination and you will understand what I am talking about. However when a professional tanner or therapist sprays the mist on you personally the result will be far superior. They have eyes and can see closeup of spots of skin that might have been missed. They can also reach areas of your body the spray tanning booths can't. Unless you are some kind of gymnast and and your body and bones are ultra flexible. Even so the tans from tanning booths are not as evenly formed as the ones performed by hand.

So it comes to money and how much will spray tanning cost me. The truth is I don't know because it varies from one neighborhood to the next. Some tanning salons use the most sophisticated spray tanning systems and they will charge you a premium in order to recoup that money. Superior machines superior spray tan, right? Not exactly, if you are lucky and you find someone who offers a spray tanning service by hand then hold on to their contact information if they are good. Some offer such services by using spray tanning equipment that cost them a couple of grand. They are not as greedy as the more elaborate and pretentious tanning salons.
So you could probably get a service for a fraction of the actual cost. Did you guys know that in Los Angles some spray tanning gurus charge two hundred dollars and up for a 10 to 15 minute session. Yes celebrities like Fergie and Megan Fox use those kinds of services all the time. Thing is most people don't have deep pockets like the aforementioned celebrities. That doesn't mean you can't have a great spray on tan though. It just means you'll have to look harder. It's an art and so if you find someone with a steady hand and someone who knows what they're doing then become a regular and work out lesser fees with them. Say a spray tanning sessions costs $75, but you can strike a deal with professional tanner for say $50, or maybe even $40 if you get a tan once or twice a month. Every one appreciates security and some professional tanners that are just starting out will be open to deals. They want to build a clientèle and reputation so they are more willing to work with you. Seriously, it's not like it's surgery or anything, spray tanning basically consists of an airbrush, the tanning mist or solution and pro doing his or her thing on your skin.

Okay so now you got your tan and you're hot and you want to show off. Cool that's what spray tanning is all about to show off that beautiful bronze skin. And just a reminder when going in for your tanning session, just know that some partners prefer the thong on or off, I'm talking about the bikini line. Consider that and normally the person getting the tan asks the person who they're getting the tan for whether it's thong on or off. Just a remainder it'd be a shame to spend all that money and then notice it. Anyway so your tan looks hot and maybe you want to go relax poolside. That its perfectly fine but do not go inside the water at all. Pools have chlorine and what chlorine does is it fades the tan. Yes it will fade your beautiful bronze tan quicker than you can dry yourself with a towel. So be careful, also ask the tanning salon when could you take a shower after your spray tanning session. Most recommend 8 hours but some insist on 24hrs, yes an entire day and night, so make sure you ask. The different spray tanning solutions vary with regard to how soon you can bathe or shower after the tan.
So just exercise caution and the thing to remember is that certain moisturizers will also fade your tan. A good moisturizer without alpha hydroxy acid will however help sustain your bronze tan better. Anyway the week or so you have your tan, just enjoy it and don't worry about using other beauty products because you are looking good and every one is envious or you. They're thinking oh my did you just come from Barbados, and go ahead and lie to them and say yes! No one will know the difference because that's how good spray tanning could be when done right.

I think it's so important that people are well informed about the benefits of spray tanning, what it involves, etc. Too many people spend all day in the sun looking for a perfect tan, when all they get is a sunburn or worse. Thanks for writing this informative article.
